NANNIE'S CHOW CHOW 
1/2 gal. vinegar
6 c. sugar
8 onions
7 red peppers
4 lbs. cabbage
1/4 c. salt
Hot green pepper to taste
1 gal. sliced green tomatoes

Place sliced green tomatoes in gallon jar with 1/4 cup salt. Let stand while preparing other vegetables. Drain tomatoes and add to mixture. Cook in large container until vegetables are tender and clear and juice is a little thick. Place in jars and seal. Very good on beans and other vegetables.
