APPLE BREAD 
Generously grease a loaf pan.

1/2 c. vegetable shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. sour milk (sour with drop of white vinegar)
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. apples (2 or 3 apples, peeled and chopped course)

TOPPING:

Mix together:

2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1. Cream the shortening, butter, sugar. add vanilla, sour milk and eggs, mix well.

2. Sift the flour, soda, powder, salt together, add to mixture.

3. Stir in chopped apples. Pour into loaf pan.

4. Bake 45 minutes at 325 degrees, then sprinkle topping mixture on bread. Bake 15 minutes more. (Total baking time 1 hour.)
