CHEESE-ALE BALL | |
6 c. shredded cheddar cheese (about 1 1/2 lbs.) 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 4 tbsp. soft butter 3/4 c. ale (or beer) 1 tsp. dry mustard 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper 1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts (or pecans) Pimento Parsley Beat cheddar, cream cheese and butter in a large bowl until smooth. Gradually beat in ale, mustard and crushed red pepper. If very soft, refrigerate until firm enough to hold shape. Divide and shape into 2 balls. Press a 3 inch round of waxed paper on top of each ball to keep area free to decorate. Just before serving, roll in walnuts, remove paper and make a rose with pimento and leaves of parsley. |
