COOKED FROSTING 
1 c. milk
1/3 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook milk and flour until thick over medium heat. Let cool. Blend together shortening, butter, sugar and vanilla. Beat at high speed until thick. Blend with milk mixture and whip until smooth. Keep refrigerated until needed.
