CHECKERBOARD CAKE 
1 angel food cake
1/4 c. gelatin
2 sq. Baker's chocolate
3 eggs
1/3 c. sugar

Cut angel food cake into 1-inch squares. Put in large bowl. Dissolve 1 tablespoon gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water. Melt 2 squares Baker's chocolate; add dissolved gelatin; cool.

Beat 3 egg whites; add 1/3 cup sugar. Beat 3 egg yolks; fold into egg whites. Fold in chocolate mixture. Mix with the cake squares. Put in greased springform pan and refrigerate for several hours. Cover with whipped cream.
