GRANNY'S SUGAR COOKIES | |
1/2 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1 lg. egg 2 to 2 1/4 c. flour (self-rising) 1/2 tsp. vanilla FROSTING: 1 c. sifted confectioners' sugar 5 to 6 tsp. water Food coloring, if desired, any color Sprinkles, if desired Cream first 3 ingredients together with mixer. Add flour and vanilla. Mix together. Divide dough in half. Chill 1 to 2 hours, so dough will be easy to handle. After dough is chilled, roll out on floured surface, cut out with cookie cutters. Bake in pan at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. FROSTING: One cup sifted sugar, mix with water to desired thickness. If desired, add food coloring for color. Brush over cookies while warm. Use sprinkles, if desired. |
