GREEN TOMATO CHOW - CHOW 
1 peck green tomatoes
1 head cabbage
8 onions
1/2 c. salt
2 qt. dark vinegar
1 qt. brown sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. cloves
1/2 tbsp. black pepper

Chop tomatoes, onions and cabbage fine; add salt and let set overnight. Drain. Add vinegar and sugar, adding a little water, if necessary to cover. Place spice in cloth bag and immerse. Cook 25 minutes, stirring constantly. Seal in jars.
