SYLVIA'S SPONGE CAKE 
6 lg. eggs (separated)
1 1/2 c. sugar (a little less)
1/2 c. orange juice
1 tbsp. orange juice
1 tbsp. orange rind
1 tsp. fresh lemon
1 tsp. lemon rind
1 1/2 c. cake flour (soft as silk)
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Sift flour before measuring with baking powder. Beat egg whites stiff; add 3/4 cup of sugar and beat well; set aside.

Beat yellows well and add 3/4 cup sugar; beat well again. Add orange and lemon juice gradually. Add flour and baking powder. Pour over whites and fold in. Bake in a 10-inch tube pan (ungreased) in 350 degree oven 35-40 minutes. Cool upside down on rack before removing from pan.
