GRANDMA TICKY'S CHOCOLATE ICEBOX DESSERT | |
4 bars German chocolate (sweet) 10 eggs, separated 2 boxes vanilla wafers 3 tbsp. powdered sugar 4 tbsp. hot water Layer 9x9 inch pan with wafers. Melt chocolate slowly in double boiler. As soon as chocolate is melted add egg yolks one at a time. Add hot water after egg yolks are in. Add powdered sugar. Beat egg whites in large bowl. Add chocolate mixture slowly folding into egg whites. If mixture gets stiff, add a little water. (Folding means rolling egg whites over - not stirring.) Pour 1/3 of mixture over wafers. Add another layer of wafers plus 1/3 mixture until wafers end up on top. Refrigerate. Serve with whipped cream. |
