JINGLE BELL BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
1 (10 oz.) jar strawberry preserves

Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg; add flour; mix well. Stir in nuts. Reserve 1 1/2 cups. Press remaining mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Spread preserves over bottom. Mix about 1/2 cup more flour into reserved mixture and sprinkle over the top. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
