LEMON SPONGE PIE | |
1 c. sugar 1 tbsp. butter 2 egg yolks 1 c. milk 2 tbsp. flour 1 lemon 2 egg whites Cream butter; add sugar and blend thoroughly. Add beaten egg yolks, flour, lemon juice, and some grated rind. Add milk and stiffly beaten egg white. Pour into unbaked crust and bake until crust is brown and filling form. Bake 400 degrees for 10 minutes then 350 degrees for 1/2 hour. Will have a cake-like top crust. Following are some of the recipe favorites which have been enjoyed by Mrs. Ketler's family since her sons were young men. The comments at the beginning of each recipe are those of her elder son. |
