SOFT MOLASSES COOKIES | |
2 c. brown sugar 1 c. vegetable shortening 2 eggs, unbeaten 1 c. gold label Brer Rabbit molasses 6 c. all-purpose flour 3 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 2 c. buttermilk or thick milk 1 tsp. vanilla Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, one at a time and molasses. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with liquid. Cool dough. Drop by spoon on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees until cookie springs back when touched. |
