BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE | |
3 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. butter 3/4 c. shortening 1 lb. light brown sugar 1 c. sugar 5 lg. eggs 1 c. milk 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. chopped nuts Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Cream butter and shortening until very light; add brown sugar gradually; creaming until fluffy. Then add the plain sugar the same way and cream until very light. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add the dry ingredients alternately with milk. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Pour into a well greased and floured tube pan. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 hour and 45 minutes or 2 hours. |
