EGGNOG 
10 whole eggs
3 qts. milk
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. brandy, bourbon or rum (optional)

Heat milk. Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla. When milk begins to simmer, slowly add egg mixture while beating continuously. Cook over low heat until mixture coats spoon. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons nutmeg over top. Add liquor, if desired.
