STRAWBERRY PIE DESSERT 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
2 egg whites
1 c. granulated sugar
2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen sliced strawberries, partially thawed
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. heavy cream, whipped

Thoroughly mix first 4 ingredients. Place in 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees, stirring frequently until golden brown (about 15 minutes); reserve scant cup. Spread remainder on pan bottom; set aside. Beat egg whites until frothy. Fold in next 4 ingredients. Beat 20 minutes. Fold whipped cream into mixture, turn into pan and cover with reserved nut mixture. Freeze until ready to serve (will not become icy). Serves 6 to 8.
