BREAKFAST CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. milk
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix flour, sugar and baking powder together; add butter; blend until crumbly. Set aside 1/2 cup of these crumbs. To the remainder, add alternately a little of the milk and the eggs, well beaten. Just stir these in until batter is smooth, do not beat. Add the vanilla to the last bit of milk before stirring into batter.

Spread into a shallow 8 inch greased pan and sprinkle the reserved crumbs over the top. A little cinnamon sprinkled over crumbs adds to the flavor. Bake at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes.
