CHILE CON CARNE - COLONIAL STYLE 
1 lb. chopped pork loin or beef
2 tbsp. corn oil
3 tbsp. red chili powder
2 c. water
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce (6 or 8 oz.)

This mixture has all the necessary spices.

Mix meat, salt and flour well. Fry in hot oil until almost done. Add chile and stir well. Add tomato paste and sauce. Add water or beef stock. Some old timers use a bit of flour thickening. Simmer until done and serve.
