CHRISTMAS TEA CAKES 
1 1/2 sticks butter
2 c. flour (plain)
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Green and red sugar crystals (optional)

Cream the sugar, butter and the egg yolk. Add the flour and vanilla. Mix well. Roll out the dough on a floured board. Cut it into Christmas shapes - use cookie cutters if you have them. Sprinkle with green and red sugar crystals, if desired for a more festive look. Bake for only a few minutes in a preheated 400 degree oven until light brown. Be careful - they don't take long to bake.
