2 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. allspice 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. cloves (ground) 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 c. shortening 1 c. honey 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed 1 tsp. Hot Swedish-style mustard 2 eggs, beaten 3 tbsp. milk 1 c. dried currants 1 c. dates, chopped 1/2 c. chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, etc.) Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Sift together the first 7 ingredients. Cream the next 4 ingredients together in a large bowl. Add eggs to creamed mixture. Add milk and sifted dry ingredients; mix well. Stir in fruits and nuts. Drop from teaspoon onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. |
