SPICE COOKIES 
1/2 c. sorghum
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg

Beat above 4 ingredients together.

2 c. flour (self-rising)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 heaping tsp. pumpkin pie spice

Sift above 3 ingredients together.

Add the sorghum mixture to flour mixture. Roll in greased and floured waxed paper. Put in refrigerator and chill overnight. Stir and bake on a greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees.

ICING:

1 tbsp. shortening
Water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Powdered sugar

Make to consistency of thin icing.
