1/2 c. cornstarch
1 c. cold water
1 env. gelatin
2 c. hot water
1/2 c. soap flakes or detergent
All purpose dye

Combine cornstarch and 3/4 cup cold water in saucepan. Soak gelatin in remainign 1/4 cup cold water. Stir hot water slowly into cornstarch mixture. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture boils and is clear. Remove from heat, blend in softened gelatin. Stir in soap or detergent until mixture thickens and is thoroughly dissolved. Cool and then divide into jars for different colors. Stir dye into mixture. Makes 3 cups of finger paints.
