LASAGNA 
1 lb. ground beef
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. fennel seeds
1/4 tsp. pepper
8 oz. lasagna noodles, about 12 pieces
16 oz. low fat cottage cheese
1 egg
8 oz. diced part skim Mozzarella cheese

Brown ground beef and garlic well. Add tomatoes, tomato paste and all seasonings. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare noodles and drain. Rinse with cold water and drain. Blend cottage cheese and egg well.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In 13 x 9 inch pan arrange half of noodles, spread half of cottage cheese mixture over noodles. Sprinkle with half of Mozzarella. Top with half of meat sauce. Repeat.

Bake 40 minutes or until heated through well. Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes for easier serving.
