OATMEAL NUT BREAD 
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
2 c. buttermilk
2/3 c. dark molasses
3 c. flour (sifted)
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. quick oatmeal
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chopped dates

In a mixing bowl, beat eggs until light; add sugar, beating often. Blend in buttermilk and molasses. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to buttermilk mixture, beating only until blended. Stir in rolled oatmeal, nuts and dates to combine evenly. Divide into 2 1/2 inch) long pans - buttered. Bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool. Bread slices better the second day.
