SNICKERDOODLES 
1 c. soft shortening (1/2 butter, 1/2 shortening)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift flour, cream of tartar, salt and soda. Stir into mixture. Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon; roll balls in mixture. Place about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees or until lightly browned.
