2 c. sugar 1/2 c. Crisco 2 eggs 1 c. sour milk 3/4 c. boiling water 1/2 c. cocoa 1 tsp. vanilla 4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder Cream together sugar, crisco and eggs. Add milk, cocoa (dissolved in boiling water), and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda and baking powder. Drop on greased baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes at 450°F. Filling: 1 stick butter 1/2 c. Crisco 1 c. white sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2/3 c. milk 3 tbsp. flour Beat butter, crisco and white sugar for at least 5 minutes. Add milk, flour and vanilla and beat for a long time! I use filling for cupcakes or to make cookie sandwiches, donuts, etc. Refrigerate. Keeps a long time if the kids don't find it! |
