HOMEMADE LASAGNA | |
1/2 lb. pkg. lasagna 1 lb. hot Italian sausage 1 lb. ground beef 1 med. onion, chopped 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 2 tsp. sugar 1 tbsp. salt 2 tbsp. basil leaves 1 tsp. oregano 3/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 3 eggs, beaten 1 lg. tub cottage cheese 1 tbsp. dried parsley flakes 1/2 tsp. salt 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, grated Mix cheeses, eggs, parsley and salt, cover and set in refrigerator. Prepare noodles according to package directions, drain. Cook sausage and beef, drain; add onion and stir, and cook 5 minutes. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Add rest of ingredients to meat and simmer 20 minutes. In bottom of 9x13 inch baking dish, spoon just enough to cover bottom about 1 to 1 1/2 cup layer, 1/3 noodles, 1/3 meat sauce, 1/3 cheese. Repeat layering. Top with remaining cheese sauce, cover with foil. Bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake uncovered 25 minutes longer. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting. |
