TWINKIE CAKE 
1 box cake mix (any kind)
5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Prepare cake mix as directed on package and bake in a greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Cool and remove cake from pan. Slice cake lengthwise and lay top half of cake on serving board (top will be bottom). Cool cake completely.

Mix flour and milk. Cook over low heat until thick. Remove and cool. Mix sugar, shortening, butter, salt and vanilla with electric beater. Add milk mixture and whip until like whipped cream. Spread this mixture on bottom half. Place the top half on cream mixture. Last, ice the top layer. May be refrigerated or kept at room temperature.
