NEW HAMPSHIRE GOULASH 
3 lb. stew meat, cut in 1 in. cubes
3 tbsp. oil
3 c. chopped onions
1 c. chopped green peppers
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. soy sauce
2 sm. cans mushrooms
1 tbsp. paprika
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. sour cream (optional)

Brown meat well on all sides in oil in large pan. Mix in remaining ingredients except sour cream. Stir thoroughly. Cover and cook slowly until beef cubes are tender (2 1/2 - 3 hours). If desired stir in sour cream just before serving. Serve on hot buttered noodles or rice. 6-8 servings.

Prepare 1 day ahead for best flavor, leaving out sour cream until serving time.
