SWEDISH HOLIDAY COOKIES 
3 c. flour
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 lemon, rind grated & juice
2 egg yolks
2 egg whites, slightly beaten
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts
1/2 c. sugar
1 sm. jar currant jelly

On bread board mix flour, butter, 1 cup sugar, lemon juice, rind and yolks. Knead until very smooth, form into balls the size of small walnuts. Combine 1/2 sugar and chopped nuts.

Dip balls into egg white then in sugar, nut mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press thumb into center of each cookie.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. While still hot from oven fill center with about 1 1/2 teaspoons jelly.
