SAVORY BEETS 
3 tbsp. vinegar
2 1/2 c. cooked sliced beets
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1 slice onion
2 tbsp. butter

Put the vinegar, 1/2 cup beets, cloves, salt, sugar, onion and butter into a blender. Cover and process at liquefy until smooth. Pour over remaining beets in saucepan. Simmer, stirring frequently, about 20 minutes. Yield: 4 servings.
