GONE-ALL-AFTERNOON STEW 
2 lbs. stewing beef, cubed
3 med. carrots, sliced
2 chopped onions
3 potatoes, peeled and quartered
Cooked or frozen peas or leftover vegetables
1 can condensed tomato soup
1/2 can water
1 tbsp. salt, sprinkle of pepper
1 bay leaf
1/4 c. pickle juice or red wine

Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Put all ingredients into large casserole with lid. No need to brown meat first. Cover tightly and bake in preheated oven for 5 hours.
