GINGERSNAPS 
1 1/2 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. molasses
4 c. flour
4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. ginger (almost)
2 tsp. cinnamon (almost)
2 tsp. cloves (almost)

REGULAR BATCH:

3/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger (almost)
1 tsp. cinnamon (almost)
1 tsp. cloves (almost)

Combine shortening, sugar and egg in mixing bowl. Beat until fluffy. Add molasses and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and add. (Chill if desired). Roll in balls and dip in sugar. Bake at 325 degrees for 9-11 minutes.
