ANNIE'S DOUBLE QUICK DINNER
ROLLS
 
1 c. warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. shortening
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten

In bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in shortening, sugar and salt. Stir in half the flour. Add the beaten egg. Add rest of flour and beat with spoon until smooth. Scrape sides of bowl and cover with cloth. Let rise in warm place until double in size (1 to 1 1/2 hours).

Grease 12 large muffin cups. Stir down raised dough. Spoon into muffin cups, filling each half full. Let rise until dough reaches tops of muffin cups (30-45 minutes). Bake in 400 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.
