SAUSAGE RICE CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. pork sausage 1/2 diced green pepper 1 med. onion, diced 1 1/2 c. diced celery 4 c. water (maybe more) 1 c. uncooked rice 1 c. blanched slivered almonds (optional) 2 packets (env.) Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup Crumble and brown sausage. Cook well to fry out all fat. Drain off fat. Saute the celery, onion and green pepper until browned. Add veggies and rice to sausage. Boil water and add the soup mix. Then pour soup over the rest of ingredients and add the almonds. Stir and mix. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Uncover the last 20 minutes. Serves 7-10. May cook on stove top in heavy skillet. |
