BAKED BEANS 
1 lb. navy or Great Northern beans
Ham, chopped in cubes
1 c. chopped onion
1/8 c. (2 tbsp.) molasses
2-3 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Rinse beans. Soak overnight or bring them to a boil and let sit for an hour. Add salt and ham. Cook until beans are tender. Drain beans and reserve liquid.

In a crock pot or 2 1/2 quart casserole mix beans, ham, onions and seasonings with 1 cup of liquid. Cover and bake 2 hours at 300 degrees. Stir occasionally. Add reserve liquid if necessary. Remove lid and brown about 1/2 hour. Serves 6-8. Serve with salad and French bread.
