NEW ENGLAND FISH CHOWDER 
1/2 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic
1 bay leaf
1 sprig parsley
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. thyme
Freshly ground black pepper
1/2 c. skim milk
1 lbs. frozen or fresh haddock or cod fillets

Melt butter in pan, saute onions and garlic. Add all other ingredients. Simmer soup for 45 minutes. Yield: 4 servings.
