SPICED BLUEBERRIES | |
4 qts. fresh blueberries 2 c. distilled white vinegar 3 lbs. brown sugar 1 tbsp. whole allspice 2 cinnamon sticks 1 tsp. whole cloves 1. Wash and drain berries. 2. Boil vinegar, sugar and spices for 5 minutes. Add berries. Simmer about 3 minutes or until berries are tender. Let stand overnight. 3. Using a slotted spoon pack the berries into hot sterilized jars. Boil the syrup 2 minutes and pour over. Seal. Process 10 minutes in hot water bath. Makes 8 to 10 pints. |
