FRIED APPLE RINGS 
8 lg. cooking apples
1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

1. Core (but do not peel) apples and slice crosswise into half inch slices.

2. Melt butter in a large fry pan. Place the apples in the pan and sprinkle with the sugar mixed with the cinnamon.

3. Cover and cook slowly for 30 minutes or until apples are tender. Baste occasionally but do not turn. Serves 8.
