1 c. white sugar 1 c. brown sugar 1 1/2 c. shortening 3 eggs, slightly beaten 4 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. cloves 1 c. chopped nuts Cream sugars and shortening. Add eggs and dry ingredients. Mix well. Place half of dough on waxed paper and shape into 2 inch loaf. Repeat with other half. Let stand in refrigerator overnight or put in freezer to bake later. |
