CHILI WITH SPAGHETTI | |
1 qt. water 2 lbs. lean hamburger 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cumin seed or ground cumin 2 lg. chopped onions 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 clove garlic or 1/2 tsp. minced 2 tbsp. chili powder 1 tsp. black pepper 1/2 tsp. red pepper or chili pepper 1 tbsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. ground allspice 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 1/2 tbsp. cider vinegar 3 lg. whole bay leaves Crumble raw (do not brown) hamburger into water. Add all ingredients. Bring to boil, then simmer for 3 hours. Remove garlic and bay leaves. Serve over spaghetti. Top with shredded mild Cheddar cheese, chopped onions, if desired, or serve over hot dogs with Cheddar cheese and chopped onions. If kidney beans are desired, add after cooking chili. Simmer another 15 minutes. Drain kidney beans before adding. |
