CHINESE CHEWS 
3 eggs
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped nuts
Powdered sugar

Beat eggs until light; add sugar and beat thoroughly. Combine flour, salt and baking powder, add to creamed mixture. Fold in dates and nuts. Spoon into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan and bake at 300 degrees for 35 minutes. Cut into bars; when cool, remove from pan. Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Yield: 40 bars.
