DILL SUN PICKLES 
Bread
2 heads dill
Sm. cucumbers

In a glass gallon jar, put a slice of bread on bottom. Put 2 or 3 heads of dill on top of bread. Fill with small cucumbers.

Make a mixture of:

2 c. dark vinegar
4 c. water
1/2 c. kosher salt
1 heaping tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. alum

Heat until dissolved. Pour over cucumbers.

2 or 3 heads dill
1 slice bread

Put dill on top, then put bread on top of dill. Set in sun for 3 days. Put in refrigerator. Keeps well.
