TERIYAKI CHICKEN | |
3/4 c. soy sauce 3/4 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. sherry 1 tbsp. sesame oil 1 tbsp. sesame seeds 1/2 tsp. monosodium glutamate 1 clove garlic, minced 1 1/2 tsp. gingerroot, peeled and crushed 3-4 lb. chicken thighs or drumsticks Mix all ingredients except chicken. Soak chicken 4 hours overnight in sauce. Drain chicken (but save the sauce). Bake in a shallow pan for 1 hour at 325°F. Turn pieces over and baste with sauce often. Ten minutes before turning off the heat, pour the rest of the soy sauce mixture on top. Serve with chopped green onions and Chinese parsley. Serves 10-12. |
