MOM'S MAINE BLUEBERRY CAKE 
2 eggs, separated
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. milk
1 1/2-2 c. blueberries

Beat egg whites until stiff and set aside. Cream shortening; add salt, vanilla, sugar and 2 egg yolks. Beat until creamy. Sift flour and baking powder and add to creamed mixture with 1/3 cup milk. Fold in egg whites and blueberries. Bake in 8 x 8 inch greased pan at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
