IRISH TEA BRACK | |
1/2 pt. strong tea 1 lb. mixed dried fruit 6 oz. brown sugar 1 egg, lightly beaten 1 oz. butter, melted 9 oz. plain flour 1/2 level tsp. bread soda Preheat oven (middle shelf gas) at 350 degrees. Use 2 pound loaf tin. Mix tea, fruit and sugar in bowl and leave overnight. Mix in beaten egg and melted butter. Fold in flour and bread soda. Place in greased tin (lined). Bake for 1 1/2 hours approximately. Leave for 10 minutes in tin after cooking, turn out. Soak fruit the night before. Bread soda = baking soda. |
