CHOW-CHOW 
1 peck green tomatoes
2 sm. heads of cabbage
3 green peppers
4 lg. onions
6 green cucumbers

Chop all fine. Sprinkle with salt. Let stand overnight and drain. Scald in 1 quart vinegar and 2 quarts water. When cool, drain and make a syrup of 3 quarts vinegar and 4 pounds sugar. Boil all together 1/2 hour slowly. Can and seal.
