SPICY-SUGARED WALNUTS 
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. water
2 c. walnut halves

In saucepan, combine sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and water. Bring to a boil. Boil, stirring frequently, to 236 degrees on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat. Add walnuts and stir until creamy. Turn out onto waxed paper. Separate walnuts using 2 forks.
