BUTTERMILK CANDY 
1/4 lb. butter (1 stick)
2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. white Karo
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts

Cream the butter and sugar. Add the buttermilk, soda and Karo. Cook until the mixture forms soft ball when dropped into cold water. Remove from heat and add the vanilla and nuts. Beat well before pouring into 8 x 8-inch pan.

Makes 36 pieces.
