CHRISTMAS SUGAR BALLS 
1 c. softened butter (stick type, not tub)
1/4 c. sifted confectioners sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. water
2 c. sifted enriched flour
1 c. chopped pecans
Red and green colored sugar

Thoroughly cream butter, confectioners sugar, and vanilla. Stir in water. Add flour and mix well. Stir in nuts. Shape into 1-inch balls and roll some in red sugar, some in green. Bake 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet at 300 degrees for 20 minutes, or until firm to touch. Cool thoroughly before removing from pan. Makes 4 dozen.
