CHOCOLATE PICNIC CAKE 
2 c. plain flour
2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 sticks butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk

Cream sugar and butter; add eggs. Then add water, buttermilk, and flour alternately. Add cocoa, soda, and salt to mixture. Bake in long loaf pan for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

TOPPING:

1 stick butter
6 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Pinch salt
1 box confectioners' sugar
1 c. nuts
4 tbsp. cocoa

Melt butter, cocoa, and milk. Let come to boil. Set off to cool. Add box of sugar, salt, and vanilla. Pour topping over cake when it comes out of oven.
